Fixing a car’s central locking system is usually a quick and easy process. The first step is to clean and lubricate the door lock cylinders. Over time, dirt and grime can build up inside the cylinders, making it difficult for the locks to engage. The second step is to check the condition of the door lock mechanism.
The lock light on the door switches on and off with the clicks in the door. Sometimes when I get in the car after unlocking, it makes a clicking noise as if it’s locked the doors but it hasn’t. When it unlocks I’ve tried pressing the lock button for it to lock for a second and then unlock again by itself. Anyone else had this issue?
Quoting handbook: If an opening element (door or boot) is open or not properly closed, or a card is in the passenger compartment (or the card reader), the vehicle will not lock. In this situation, no beep sounds and the hazard warning lights do not flash. Mel. You have read the manual then Mel. Well done you.

The central locking switch was working. The key fobs were working to turn the car on and drive. There weren't any other noticeable issues. Just that the fobs weren't locking or unlocking the doors, the blade had to be used. So I joined and searched these forums and elsewhere to see how to re-sync.
Oct 17, 2018. #1. I’ve got a 2012 D4 SDVD. About 4 weeks ago the central locking for the rear passenger side door stopped working. It would lock but wouldn’t unlock. As we were heading off on holiday I decided to wait until we got back to get it sorted. During the holiday the rear drivers side stopped working. However, that side simply won
Step 3: Replace the door lock actuator bolts and screws. Reinstall the three screws into the door lock to secure it in the door. Then reinstall the two 10mm bolts above and below the location of the door lock actuator to secure the actuator. Step 4: Reattach the clips and cables.
8. Ford Edge Not Locking or Unlocking With Key Fob. If your Ford Edge won’t lock or unlock with the key fob then this is usually a problem with the key fob. This includes: Dirty contacts inside the fob – clean with a cotton swab and contact cleaner. A weak fob battery – change the battery in your fob (s)
I seem to have developed a central locking issue. I can lock/unlock ALL the doors and boot using the key in the drivers door as I used to be able to with the fob, but now I can only lock/unlock the passenger doors and boot with the fob and have to use the key to unlock/lock the drivers door. is this a common problem or is there some special
Figure 1. Child safety lock location. Step 2 – Test the key fob. Check the battery of the fob – try to lock and unlock the door from varying distances. If you notice that, despite being not terribly far away from the car, it is not reacting to the queue to lock/unlock the vehicle, then it might be time to replace the fob battery.
I purchased a new 2017 HRV EX in September of this year. Yesterday I noticed that as I was driving, the doors started to automatically lock-slightly unlock-lock-slightly unlock-lock-slightly unlock-etc, lasting for maybe a minute or two. It happened a few times last night and then a few more times today, all as I was driving 10-30mph.
